The Human Torch of the Fantastic Four is also prone to this, and literally lit someone else's cigarette-to their great surprise-this way.The stranger was Lord Chaos from the sister comic, Warp. In an issue of Grim Jack, Crane, a Con Man is contemplating the collapse of his latest scam when he asks a stranger in an alley for a light.Pyro does this often in the X-Men comics and adaptations.Mikoto Suoh, the Red King in K does this, for himself and for the Blue King, when they have a discussion in the end.Alberto the Shockwave from Giant Robo likes to light his cigars this way.No, he doesn't have fire or any other supernatural powers besides absurd strength. Toriko lights his cigar tree branch this way.Yubaba from Spirited Away lights a cigarette this way while coolly threatening to roast Chihiro's parents-turned-to-pigs for her bathhouse guests' dinner.Early in the Sailor Moon anime, Sailor Mars' first attack conjures flames from her index fingers.A true example would be Negi blinding her by combining his snap with light magic while he was under the effects of the world tree. In Negima! Magister Negi Magi, Setsuna simply created a tongue of flame at the end of her finger tip. While Mustang himself doesn't smoke, his squadmate Havoc does and will sometimes ask him for a light. Then he uses the alchemic circles woven into said gloves to decompose water in the air into hydrogen and oxygen then reignite as needed to turn the tiny spark into an inferno. Fullmetal Alchemist's Colonel Mustang wears gloves that spark when he snaps his fingers.Recca does this a few times near the beginning of Flame of Recca. If you can hear the water sizzling, and the rocks become dry, its time to stop. The rocks will eventually become very hot. Be sure not to wear long pants or loose clothing and keep a water hose ready just in case. for people that don't know you can really fool them. You'll find the hard, slightly sharp rocks cause you to walk as if you were actually walking on coals. Light the fuel (it looks convincingly menacing) and take a walk. Make sure the area around the pile is really watered well, both to contain the fire and provide a spot to step if the heat becomes too much. The zigzagging is important to give your feet a chance to cool off between steps (the flames are still very hot). When ready, pour the fuel in a zigzag pattern from one end of the bed to the other (the sand helps absorb and keep it there). Pour and spread out the granite out to cover the sand and wet it down well (to keep the rocks from becoming too hot) About 1 gallon of the fuel mix will be needed (be sure to add salt to make a nice orange flame). The setup is simple: rake the sand into into a bed about 2 inches thick, and 6 feet long on a wet grassy area at night. The "coals" were a 50 lab bag of plain sand and a 50 lb bag of black landscaping granite 3/4 inches in size. After testing the relative temperatures of the different alcohol mixes and successfully walking through a pool of the burning fuel in shorts and bare feet I had the fire part figured out. My alcohol flame experiments were to see if a "trick" firewalk could be devised.
